⚡ New project to support energy-intensive industries⚡
On August 20, 2026, the assumptions of the draft law (UD459) were published, which is to introduce a mechanism for reducing electricity prices for energy-intensive companies, based on the EU CISAF framework.
The most important assumptions:
➡️ the aid will cover up to PLN 50% of the company’s annual electricity consumption,
➡️After taking into account the support, the energy price will not be able to fall below EUR 50/MWh,
➡️At least 50% of the aid received is to be allocated to investments related to, among others, renewable energy sources, energy storage, energy efficiency, electrification or hydrogen,
The planned budget of the instrument for 2027–2030 is PLN 4.8 billion.
The bill also provides for a temporary increase in CIT for certain largest entities in the energy and fuel sector – to 30% in 2027, 26% in 2028 and 23% in 2029.
This is an important proposition both for the energy-intensive industry and, more broadly, for the energy market and for planning decarbonization investments.
