Pro Bono Roundtable
On 16 October 2015 in Warsaw a Pro Bono Roundtable meeting was held as a part of the Pro Bono Centrum project run by Polish Legal Clinics Foundation in the partnership with the BIS Foundation (Social Initiative Office Foundation) and the Regional Information and Support Centre for NGOs. The Law Office of Polowiec i Wspólnicy sp. j., represented by the legal trainee, Magdalena Maciejewska took part in this event.
The main objective of the Centrum Pro Bono project is to create institutional framework for further development of free of charge legal advice in Poland thanks to creating a network of cooperation between the law offices and NGOs in providing free of charge legal advice.
The discussion during the meeting focused on the issues related to the achieved results and the objectives of the Project. The problems of VAT and PIT imposed on pro bono advice were also raised. It was proposed to organize cyclical trainings for NGOs on subjects related to their functioning like labour law, tax law, and children’s rights by the partner law offices of Centrum Pro Bono.
The next Pro Bono Roundtable meeting of the law offices cooperating with Centrum Pro Bono will be held on 15 January 2016.
