Applicable Law in International Arbitration

On November 20th, 2015 „Applicable Law in International Arbitration” international conference took place at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Silesia.
The conference was attended by renowned international arbitrators, academics from many European countries, representatives of the European Union structures and practicing lawyers. Polowiec & Partners Law Firm was represented at the conference by legal adviser Anna Leszczyńska.
The presentations were mainly dedicated to problems arising at the crossroads of private international law, foreign law, European law, including issues such as: law applicable to arbitration agreements, lex mercatoria, arbitration ex aequo et bono as well as review of the most important jurisdiction and the issues of ethics binding upon lawyers taking part of arbitration proceedings.
Conferences on international arbitration organized at the University of Silesia are gaining in importance, both within academics and practitioners, focusing around a wide circle of authorities in this field.
